In a small town called Newhall lives the Walk of Western Stars. To my delight, Harry Dean Stanton, star of Wim Wenders' "Paris Texas," one of the greatest films ever, is amongst the latest honorees. (Foot included for scale.) 1.30.08

My good friend, gardening partner and design collaborator Roman sewed into the night this week. Driven by a profound belief in graphic design for social impact, Roman designed, silkscreened and hand-crafted re-usable canvas bags, and distributed them to local grocery shoppers (along with info about the excessive waste of disposable bags). The shoppers were very pleased with both his cause and good cheer. For more info: Paper Nor Plastic 4.27.07

Type experiments. I spent hours cutting type out of a big stack of newspapers for a project this week. My hand is still sore, and I thought the letters deserved a little more play before meeting their final resting place in the recycling bin. 4.20.07

My friend Chris just constructed a beautiful geodesic dome by hand out of cardboard and wood as part of his final project at CalArts. It's living outside our studios now and I'll be very sad when it moves away. (Thanks Chris for the photos.) 4.20.07

Korean World Cup madness came to a tragic end with today's defeat to Switzerland, 2-0. In Korea, the match began at 4am Saturday and an estimated 1.5 million people watched on huge outdoor screens. Here's a photo of the epicenter of it all, Seoul's City Hall. And those little red dots? Yes. Many many Koreans. (photo by getty) 6.23.06
