Hand-made Silkscreened Cotton Gloves
This is a conceptual project I created for those with extreme chemical sensitivity to use while shopping in public places.
The text printed on the gloves serves as a reminder of the most toxic household chemicals found in common grocery and hardware stores. The most harmful chemicals are emphasized through scale. Inspired by ominous cellular structures found in plants, I aimed to create an organic yet clinical style. Following this project, I also designed an ornamental typeface based on the connecting cellular structures.

Soundscape iPod Interface Design
As part of the Potion team, I was the primary graphic designer for the iPod interface in the Voices of Liberty exhibit. While walking freely between audio zones titled with themes such as "Dreams" and "Liberty," visitors listen to poignant firsthand accounts of the immigrant experience in New York City while gazing out at the magnificent view of the actual Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
While sharing a space in the same zone, multiple visitors will hear the audio interview in sync, creating an intimate yet communal experience. Additionally, the exhibit extends beyond the space itself as visitors are encouraged to contribute their own stories through the exhibition website, which are then integrated as text into the app.

4 Walks in Newhall: Exercises in Type & Film is my final thesis project for the CalArts MFA Graphic Design Program. Based on the structure of Raymond Queneau's Exercises in Style, I explored how typography can add narrative complexity to a film by creating four very short films based on the same story. Here is a video of my favorite of the four called Collage, which combines stop-motion animation and video.

Good Morning Neighbor: 7 Steps to Graphic Design Pleasure is a promotional video for my design practice that I created while studying at CalArts. Though quickly concocted over a few frantic weeks, I still enjoy the playful nature of this project.

In 2006, I did a series of drawings of rhinos, bonsai and rhino-bonsai. These are a few of my favorites.

Visual Designer & Illustrator
Studio Neat approached me with the challenge of designing an NCAA bracket app that could concisely display the complexity of the tournament with their signature touch of simplicity and retro-modern charm. After a successful 2013 Kickstarter campaign to launch the product, the result was Simple Bracket. Although the Studio Neat guys had a clear picture of their UX flow, my key contributions were the “bracket-less” bracket that opened up the design to a full-screen experience, as well as the typography, illustrations and textures based on vintage sports paraphernalia and scorebooks.
